A lesson in relaxation taught by my cat, LIttle Kitty.
First thing I do every morning is to go on the computer. I check emails, orders, update business Web Store and Etsy shop just the normal stuff. What should take less than a half hour is lengthened by my helper, LIttle Kitty.
She jumps up on the computer desk, walks back and forth across my hands and in front of the computer screen while I'm trying to type. It's not just once but several times. She's scouting out just the right spot to rest and maybe take her nap. So, where does she decide to rest? You got it, to the right, on top of my mouse hand.
It's not easy trying to type and use the mouse when a cat's comfortably resting on top of your hand? Many might ask, "Why don't you just move her". I do but she just keeps coming back for more.
Today I did not move her. I let her rest on my hand. I decided to take a pause from my hectic, self induced routine and relax. I took in the beauty of Little Kitty resting on my hand. She breaths so peacefully, her eyes closing ever so slowly, that cute little nose, the length of her whiskers and how they move, the softness of her fur.
Today, I stopped and smelled the roses.
The other day when I read this post by Eden at Mint Notion her message made me stop and ask myself if I could simplify my life, too. What could I do right now to make my life easier?
The first thing I could do right now is just slow down. Sometimes I'm going in so many directions that I don't see or feel what's going on around me. The beautiful sunset, someones smile, the smell of fresh brewed coffee, clouds in the sky, the beauty of nature and the list goes on.
Do you feel the same way? How do you simply life?
